eBikes are a fantastic way to make cycling more inclusive. A small electric motor assists riders when peddling meaning that even people who may be recovering from surgery, suffering from obesity or just needing a little help to get up those hills near home, can enjoy cycling once again.

At VOLTSWAG, we are developing a range of bikes to make cycling safer and more enjoyable - even for the elderly. Social mobility is crucial for mental health - not only for the elderly but actually, all of us. The sense of well-being we get from being in the great outdoors is well-known and combined with gentle exercise we get from riding an eBike means we can enjoy our outdoor physical activity for longer.

A journey which began on 2 wheels

We're a small electrical & mechanical engineering team with a passion for mountain biking. Having spent 2 years in the UK's IoT demonstrator project in Manchester, we recognised the huge shift towards electric bikes and knew we had to create our own.

VOLTSWAG is a registered trademark. The word is derived from 'VOLTS' - the standard unit used to measure how strongly an electrical current is sent around an electrical system and 'WAG' - the Old English word for moving backwards and forwards. In alternating current, electrons hop from atom to atom in one direction for a while, and then turn around and hop from atom to atom in the opposite direction. Everything we do at VOLTSWAG is based around the efficient flow of electricity and how we can harness that power in developing products that can accelerate the transition towards Net Zero.
